While we have our gingerbread houses, the Turks have their fabulous Turkish Delight houses.
We stopped in Sirkeci near Sultanahmet to oggle the fantastic wall of Turkish Delights. Nests, rolls, just about every manner of Turkish Delights beckoned to us.
We met Nermin for a cup of tea and some hangtime. She walked us across Galata Bridge which was all about checking out the fishermen and their wares. Some of the fishermen sell their catch to the restaurants below the bridge.
On the other side of the bridge are the fish markets. Wow, it doesn't get any fresher 'n this.
Istiklal Boulevard are a shopper's delight with everything you could possibly imagine. With an official population of 13.5 million - and a pretty strong presence of feral cats, apparently you do not dare venture in this area on weekends. Here you will not find the luxury of space which we lucky Canadians have come to take for granted.
Cicek Pasaji, the gorgeous courtyard restaurant near Taksim.
Ice cream vendors mess with your head before finally giving up dah goods!
Following a gorgeous dinner with Nermin and her sister Nilgun, we strolled over to Dolmabahce Palace where Ataturk resided for many years.
